NICK TAYLOR OF P.C.T. COMPLETES COAST TO COAST CYCLE RIDE (we are waiting for the pic as proof!)
There were 13 of us that started the bike ride in Whitehaven on Fri 5th Aug. We started by dipping our back wheel into the Irish Sea before setting off. Our first day was cycling through the Lake District to Penrith . It was a hilly ride with quite a lot of off road tracks , it was also very warm . We finished at 5.00pm.
Our second day was always going to be the toughest as we had to cycle over the Pennines to Stanhope , added to which the weather forcast was dreadful . We climbed lots of hills – over 6000feet in all during the day. The downhill bits were brilliant and I reached the top speed of 37 mph!! The weather sadly was not so brilliant as it rained pretty well all day. I managed to cycle up all the hills , without getting off to push once ! ( Honestly ! ) ............... No problem at all sleeping that night !
Our third and final day was brilliant as there was one hard hill to start with and then it was wind behind and downhill or flat for the rest of the day …..yippee!! arriving at the finish in Tynemouth dipping our front wheels in the North Sea completing 134 miles using 5333kcal -apparently ...... and enjoying a glass of well earned champagne.

After much research we can now offer repairs to leaking Tiptronic gearboxes,on the 4 wheel drive cover on the back of the gearbox we can now supply and fit replacement gaskets, these are not available from Porsche - they can only offer a replacement Tiptronic unit !

Porsche 911, Boxster and Cayman owners whose cars are fitted with PDK gearboxes can now order steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters as a retro-fit option.
Versions of the cars sold since August 2009 have had this option available from new, but Porsche has now decided to allow owners of older models to switch from the steering wheel-mounted buttons that PDK cars originally came with. The paddles are mounted to the three-spoke steering wheel taken from the new Porsche 911 Turbo.
Porsche's Tequipment department is also offering three other retro-fit options for 911 owners, including the Fuchs wheel arches and 19-inch alloys taken from the limited-edition 911 Sport Classic model. The other options are inspired by the 911 race cars from the Porsche Supercup and include a new front aero kit and rear wing.

During 2006 PCT competed in the Porsche Cub Great Britain Speed Championship, using a Porsche (of course) 996.
The car is an ex Carrera Cup race car which won the Club race championship in 1999, so just needed preparing for speed events. David Pattison and Nick Taylor of PCT shared the car and entered 13 events in the year, competing in the top class of the championship, which is for cars with engine power rated at over 250 BHP.
Speed events are competitions where cars are timed singly from a standing start to a flying finish, sometimes on narrow uphill tracks or at motor race circuits. Knowledge of the courses is critical, so we were not expecting to do particularly well.
After an enjoyable season, when nothing mechanical went wrong with the car, Nick came second in class and David fifth.
We now need to decide how we are going to change the car for next season – we need more power!
